Chicken Dry Recipe !!!

Servings 5-6
Total time : 1 hr  cooking time 20 min

1 kg chicken cleaned
4 onions
3 tomatoes
2 tsp ginger/garlic paste
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 cup scrapped coconut
2 large sticks of cinnamon
4 cardamom
10 cloves
2 tsp pepper corns
1 star mace
1/4 nut meg
1/4 tsp fennel seeds
1/4 cumin
1 tsp sesame
1 tsp poppy seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
green coriander
salt to taste
oil for frying


  • First boil chicken for that head oil in pan,add 1 onion chopped vertically,1 stick of cinnamon,2 cardamom,5 cloves,1 tsp pepper corns and tomato chopped,saute all the ingredients,than add turmeric powder,chicken and salt.Cook the chicken on medium flame till chicken is cooked.Add water if required or as can cook in the water which chickens leaves.
  • Now preparation starts for making main paste of the dish.Start with keeping kadai on stove,then add little oil,once heated add 1 sliced onion saute well ,than add scrapped coconut and toss till golden brown.remove in separate plate and keep aside.
  • In the same kadai toss all the dry spices ie 1 stick of cinnamon,2 cardamom,5 cloves,1 tsp pepper corns,1 star mase,1/4 nutmeg,1/4 fennel seeds,1/4 cumin seeds.1 tsp sesame seeds,1tsp poppy seeds,1 tsp coriander seeds ,toss all well but make sure its not burnt.
  • Grind roasted coconut,dry spices and green coriander into fine paste.
  • Keep kadai on stove ,add oil as required,than add 2 sliced onions and fry them till transparent,than add the boiled chicken and toss in onions for few min,add the ground paste and mix well into the pieces of chicken and cook on slow flame until the chicken in nicely cooked with masala,garnish with green coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot either with rice or roti or pav.

Note : do not over cook the chicken.
