Alle Belle /Goan Pancake

Alle Belle is Goan pancake made with stuffing palm jaggery and fresh coconut with little essence of cardamom.Its loved by all the kids specially because their tea time is a feast :).

Today i plan to make Alle Belle to mark Pancake Tuesday.Pancake Tuesday is also called as Shrove Tuesday as it is a day preceding to Ash Wednesday and in some countries it is celebrated by consuming Pancakes. Shrove Tuesday is observed by many Christians including Anglicans,Lutherans,Methodists and Roman Catholics who make special pint of self -examination,of considering what wrongs they have to repent and what amendments of life or areas of spiritual growth they especially needs to ask God's help in dealing with it.

Preparation Time : 20-30 min
Cooking time:1 Min for each pan cake

1 Cup Multipurpose Flour
1&3/4 Cup Milk
1 Egg
1/2 Tsp Baking powder
1/2 Tsp Vanilla essence
1 Table spoon melted butter
1/4 Tsp salt
Little oil for frying pan cake

For Filling
1 Pyramid Goan Palm jaggery
2 Cups of fresh coconut graded
3-4 Cardamom crushed

  • Sieve all dry ingredients  Flour,baking powder and salt in a bowl and keep aside.In other Bowl whisk egg,milk and vanilla essence ,whisk till smooth.
  • Than slowly pour the liquid ingredients into dry flour ingredients and beat it well into fine smooth pancake batter.
  • If you find some lumps of flour than pass it through a strainer  to make a smooth batter
  • For filling preparation in a bowl add freshly graded coconut, graded jaggery and cardamon powdered, mix well and keep aside. 
  • To make pancakes keep a Pan on stove, brush it with oil and pour half deep spoon batter on pan and spread it on pan into thin crepe. Cook it over medium flame for about 1 Min by covering a lid. 
  • make around 10 thin pancakes. Than take each pancake and add the coconut jaggery filling at the edge of pan cake and roll it by folding the sides so filling doesn't come out. 
  • Once done serve during tea time or any time when you feel like enjoy the the Alle Belle.

Chicken Clear Soup(Basic)

Soup is primarily a liquid  food generally served warm,which is made by combining different ingredients like meat and vegetables stock,juices or sometimes other liquids.Soups are loved by everyone,especially in the cold seasons soups are must to keep our body warm.Soups are best to have with crispy croutons.Just Yummm :)

Servings 4-6
Total Preparation Time:45 Min
Cooking time:20 min

250 Gram Boneless Chicken (can take chicken breast)
1 Onion Finely chopped
2 Carrots Finely chopped
5-6 Green Coriander sticks along with leaves
1 Tsp Pepper crushed
1/2 Tsp Finely chopped garlic
1 1/2 Tsp soya sauce
1 Table spoon Butter
1 Litter of vegetable stock/or chicken stock
water as required

For Bread Croutons
6 Slice of bread(edges cut)
2 Table spoon Butter
1/4 Oregano dry
1/4 Basil dry
1/4 pepper crushed
1/2 Garlic finely chopped


  • Place the pressure cooker on stove,once heated add butter,than add chopped onions,carrots,chicken ,salt,pepper crushed,garlic and coriander sticks whole
  • Add the stock and required water and pressure cook till 6-7 whistles.Once cooker is cooled down open the lid and remove the coriander sticks because that was just for flavour.
  • Than check the water level if its reduced more than you can add extra water if required.
  • Once it starts to boil add soya sauce.Boil for about 5 min and its done.
  • Need to serve with bread croutons so to make croutons you require first to cut the edges of the slice bread and cut into cubes.
  • Than add butter in pan,once butter is melted add quickly the herbs mention above along with garlic and pinch of salt and fry for 1 min.
  • Add bread cubes and toss in pan full of herb flavours. Toss till the bread cubes are crispy.
  • Server Chicken clear soup with hot crispy Croutons.Best and light food for night .
