150 gram Toor dal(pigeon pea)
1 large tomato chopped
2 green chilies
1/2 tsp turmeric
5 cloves of garlic
1 large onion chopped
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
10 curry leaves
1/4 tsp Hing(asafoetida)
salt as per taste
green coriander for garnishing
oil for seasoning

Method
- In Pressure cooker add toor dal and wash properly,and than add required water its shouldn't be more nor less,water can be little above the dal.
- Than add chopped tomatoes,chilies,turmeric,salt and cook until 2 whistles ,if we take more whistles dal might over cook.
- Mean while take a deep pan/kadai,add oil,once heated add mustard,cumin and curry leaves,than add garlic crushed and hing, stir all spices well.
- Than add chopped onions and all then fry on high flame till translucent,than add the cooked dal and seasoned it,mix well and allow it boil.
- Once boiling for about 7 min add chopped green coriander and serve hot with steamed rice and side dish can be rava(semolina) fried potatoes/pickle/papad.
