Halwa
A sweet Indian dish consisting of carrots or semolina cooked in milk,Ghee(clarified butter)almonds and cardamom.But today I want to present one
of my favourite sweet dish recipe that is Beetroot Halwa. If
we speak about beetroot most of us only imagine spicy sabzi or salads or some curries out of beetroot, and specially kids don’t like to eat at all.So lets today keeping kids in mind prepare this yummy sweet dish ,and when your small one tries it once they will love and demand again. :) !!! So here goes the procedure,
Ingredients:
1 kg Beetroot graded
1 kg Beetroot graded
1 liter milk boiled and cooled
100 gram
Khoya/milk solids(unsweetened)
5 to
6 table spoon sugar(according to your taste)
Almonds
blanched and cut vertically
Cardamom
powder 2 tsp for flavoring
2 to
3 table spoon Ghee for frying
Method:
Keep a deep frying pan on stove and add the
ghee,once then add the grated beetroot and fry well for about 15 ,then add milk and cook till
beetroot cooked properly may be about 15 min ,then add the sugar and khoya , mix
well again till all liquid is evaporated,last add cardamom powder and almonds.Either
serve chilled or hot, can serve along with ice cream too J
