{Recipe}Goan Stuffed Calamari

Goans prepare squids in different ways and among them one is stuffed squids. Squids stuffing generally consists of squids tentacles or chopped shrimps, onions, which are then cooked in red recheado masala and fried in oil. Stuffed squids is a great starter and appetizer in your party menu. So let’s start with the preparation.
You can refer Stuffed Calamari with shrimp filling recipe prepared in the past, but today its detailed recipe of stuffed calamari with calamari tentacles, onions, tomatoes cooked in  Recheado Masala. We can also do the stuffing of calamari with green masala mixture.So here comes simple yet delicious recipe of Stuffed Calamari.

Ingredients
10-12 Big sized Calamari(cleaned)
1 Bowl chopped Calamari Tentacles
2 Large onions finely chopped
2 Large Tomatoes finely chopped
2-3 Green chilies chopped
2-3 Table spoon of  Recheado Masala
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Tooth pick to seal the Calamari

Step wise preparation Method
1. Make sure you get the fresh Calamari/Squid .
2. Clean the Calamari well and separate the tentacles. Wash well the squids pocket and the tentacles .
3. Chop the tentacles fine and keep aside.
 
4. In pan add oil,then add the chopped onions,fry until translucent.Then add chopped chilies and tomatoes.Mix all well and cook by covering for about 2-3 min on slow flame.

5. Add recheado masala and saute for 2 min.Then add salt ,give a stir and allow to cook for more 2 min.


6. Add the Squid tentacles and mix well in the ingredients.Cover and cook for 5-7 min more.

7. Allow the mixture to cool down.The take the calamari and fill each with the red masala mixture using a small spoon.Seal calamari opening using a tooth pic as shown in the below picture.

8. Once all squids done filling then place them on pan and shallow fry.Make sure to cover the lid because squids pops out of pan sometimes.
9. Turn the squids occasional until you get the light brown caramelised colour over the squids. 
10. Serve when hot as side dish or just enjoy as snack. You cannot stop with one.

{Recipe}Rava Fried Squids


Today's recipe Rava fried Calamari or Squids. Rava fried fish is very common in Goan Cuisine .When i think of fried fish i can never imagine fish without rava coating.The main reason to roll fish in rava because it fries fish well and also crisp.So today's recipe on my blog is "Rava fried Squids".


Rava coated fish is always delicious,you just cannot stop by just eating one .The best part is the semolina crumbs on the tava,i always like to wipe the crispy rava and enjoy.So today lets learn how prepare squid rava fry.There are also other fish rava fry on my which you can have a look,link added .Xinanio Rava fry/Mussels Rava Fry,Rava/Semolina coated Prawns Fry,Lepo Fry (sole/tongue fish)Rava Fried Talle /Semolina Coated Sardine Fry,Chonak Fry Recipe.

Ingredients
500 Gram Squids/Calamari
1 Tsp Chili powder
1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 Lemon
Rava/Semolina for coating.
Salt to Taste
Oil for frying

Step Wise preparation 

1.Get the fresh Squids, clean them properly and Cut into roundels,also make sure you use tentacles too.





2.Drain all the water and for the squids apply salt,turmeric,chili powder,lemon.Mix all well and keep it aside to marinate for 10 min.
3.Then take rava in plate and coat the squids rings .Dust the extra semolina and keep aside.

4.In pan add oil ,once heated shallow fry the squid rings until crisp.
5.Your final crispy rava fried squids will be like below.
