Calamari or squid chili fry is very simple and quick to prepare hence, its highly demanded by most of the Goan folks. Squids can be primary in many recipes like Goan Stuffed Calamari /Squid with shrimps, squid butter garlic fry, squid rings rava fry,squid ambot tik etc. So today I post step-wise preparation of Calamari chili fry.
Recipe of Squid chili fry is quick and easy, just toss onions & other veggies along with fine cut squid . Either into rings or small cubes and just throw into the pan & toss. Add other required ingredients, cover and cook on slow flame until done. Squid chili fry is the best as side dish or can also be enjoyed with hard crust goan pao.

Ingredients
500 Gram Fresh Squids (Clean and cut into rings)
2 Onions finely chopped
2 Large Tomatoes chopped fine
2 Green chilies chopped
1 Capsicum finely chopped
1/4 Tsp turmeric powder
1 Tablespoon of Goan Recheado Masala
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh coriander.
Salt as per Taste

Step wise method
1.Fresh squids recommended.
2.Clean it as shown in below picture and cut into rounds.
3.Chop onions,tomatoes,green chilies, capsicum and keep aside.
4.Place a pan on stove,once heated add oil.Then add the onions and saute,add tomatoes,green chilies,capsicum .Add turmeric,salt and recheado masala . Saute all the ingredients well on slow flame for about 5 min.
5.Then add the squids rounds and the tentacles. Increase flame and saute the squid well.
6.Stir all the ingredients well and then cover the lid and cool the squid chili fry for about 10-15 min on slow flame.Add water if required.
7.Open the lid and check if cooked well.Garnish with fresh coriander.Server Hot as side dish or enjoy with hard crust pao or chapati.
